A Railway had ever occupied by war forces

The history of a railway had ever occupied by war forces and now become 350km high-speed rail!

The Kowloon Canton Railway Corporation, the idea of constructing a railway between Hong Kong and Mainland China was first put forward as early as 1864 by a British railway engineer, Macdonald Stephenson, who had played an important role in the initial development of railways in India. Unfortunately, he found little support from either the Imperial Chinese Government in Peking or most of the prominent businessmen in Hong Kong, and the idea was not given further serious consideration for about the next 30 years. 

In December 2007, the Corporation granted a 50-year service concession to the MTR Corporation Limited to operate its railway lines...
